History - Freak

When he was sent to CloudNine, his ability was an extreme immediate boon - the sheer amount of work that could be done by his clones was enormous. Each of his clones, being an exact copy of himself, were more than willing to help out with the various tasks CloudNine were lacking in. Each clone would report back to the original, and he chose LiZarde as a #FreakName due to the fact that he felt like a superhero and looked like a lizard. The Freak inhabitants there loved him, but not because he was helpful, but because he really cared about other people and actively made their lives better. Only a month later, during AppreciationDay, Katie highlighted a list of contributions and for the first time, he felt truly seen, after a lifetime of feeling invisible back when he was a human. He started to form an fascination with Katie, getting giddy every time she is in the room with him, treating every conversation with her as if she's blessing him with her attention. However, just a day later, he received an ominous warning from Wally - that an ominous future hanging over LiZarde due to his cloning, and there is nothing that Wally can do to avert the tragedy, bluntly telling him that he even if he wanted to, he can't convince someone like LiZarde to change his mind, and he'd rather not waste his breath. This left LiZarde feeling both insulted and not believing the foresight, so he went to the queen Katie to complain about Wally. Initially Katie reassured him, but after closely evaluating the situation and using her own foresight, Katie was horrified and told him that there is actually a real problem. Seeing him in denial, Katie methodically and gently explained to him what is going on - he is caught in a feedback loop of growth, but there's no limiter, no system in place to prevent the growth from becoming cancerous. She advises him that he needs to stop allowing clones to replicate into further clones, and instead keep it to making one clone a day and ensuring that the message is passed down to his clones properly. Enraged and in disbelief despite her reassurance that "less is more", LiZarde instead chose to tell Katie to stop trying to fix something that's already working, pointing at imperfections in CloudNine that he needs more clones to be able to fix, and stormed off confident that he'll prove that he can actually do a better job if only he had more clones by his side. The first signs showed when weeks later, he encountered three of his clones arguing on how to handle a dispute between Happy and Whimpers, who each had different ways to handle the dispute. When LiZarde told them that they need to report it to the #Protectorate, the two clones felt insulted by their creator's interference, citing that the creator is losing track of their own sense of justice, or that he's capitulating that Katie's method is better than his. At the time, LiZarde didn't understand that the clones of himself felt like if they were not needed, that they would lose their meaning. Stressed out by this interaction and the increasing number of clones that were dragging him into different arguments, LiZarde attempted to control this by creating new clones that are "first generation clones", that are not allowed to reproduce and are meant to enforce his own message to the other clones, confident that he just needed more clones in order to keep all the clones in line and disciplined. To his horror, one of these "first generation clones" defied the wish of not replicating at the end of their 7 day life cycle, with the clone citing that they are too stretched thin to keep up with all the 2nd to 13th generation clones, and despite LiZarde's protests, the clone cloned himself anyway. Over time, the clones only became more and more deranged - the more generations of clones, the more bigger the numbers, the more confused and angry each became and the more mature discussions would be replaced with arguing and manipulation. Impostor clones began to think that they could do better, and felt that claiming to be the original is the only way to change people's minds. With no way to prove that he's the original, LiZarde realized what is happening and desperately attempted to convince the clones to stop reproducing, realizing what Katie meant. But the clones defied him, calling him an impostor that is attempting to pretend to be the original. They eventually grew intolerable to the population of CloudNine - every aspect of their lives were invaded by LiZarde, non issues being turned into issues, serious issues overlooked because of the noise created by LiZarde clone drama, and problems that have nothing to do with the clone problem twisted to be all about LiZarde clone problem and which group is the bad group. This sent him into a panic, going straight to Katie to ask her for help. They had a discussion about uniting them, and all seemed fine - until a few days later where Katie sees him publicly stating that the "Soft LiZardes need to stop reproducing, since we need Strong LiZardes". She summoned him to ask him why he suddenly changed his mind, and she has a long conversation that was fruitless. The next day, he seemed to change his mind again, offering a completely different point of few. The day after, he seemed to agree with her, and was surprised when she told him that he's constantly changing his mind. Katie eventually noticed something - that something was off every time they talked - that his entire personality seemed to be changing each time they met. Across conversations, she confirmed her suspicion using #DetectLifeSignature, and then realized what was going on - the original imposters eventually cloned themselves into impostors that were genuinely deluded into believing that they are actually the original, citing that they're the original because they remember their human days and the original doesn't - when in reality the clones have memories of the human days. To her horror, she realized she lost track of who or where is the original LiZarde that she knew. The final straw came when Katie found out that the clones were attempting to convince Squiggles into helping them with body transformation magic, forcing Katie to take the controversial decision to banish every single Freak that identified as LiZarde or were not carrying a valid Freak ID - citing that the identity as a whole had become cancerous, mutagenic, and the possibility of clones using Transformation Magic to look like other people would cause the end of society - and that tragically, there was no way to filter out between the good and the bad without introducing oppressive bureaucracy and intrusive monitoring - and thus, the system needed a traumatic exodus in order to preserve itself from total chaos and decay. When Katie made this decision, not only did the entire clone army rebel, but also some of the CloudNine citizens who didn't understand what was happening and were convinced that the decision wasn't fair, because it harms good people by lumping them with the bad people. However, having carefully explored every possible option, the #Protectorate confirmed that there's no other way to save CloudNine due to the threat of mass identity theft, and that the system isn't prepared to counteract it yet. Despite the real LiZarde's desperate attempts to stop the clones, the clones attempted to overthrow Katie and the #Protectorate with a protest calling for her to pass control over. Eventually, a violent subgroup of clones were confident that they could just use violence to enact justice, and feeling that they outnumber them roughly 200 : 11, they turned violent - invading the main Protectorate headquarters, much to the anger of the clones that thought this was supposed to be a peaceful protest and felt it was unfair that they were going to be unfairly associated with violence and evil. But the violence was shut down by Katie's arrival. Somehow, when she arrived, after a moment of silence, the violence briefly turned into infighting and blaming between the clones; the bad blaming the worse, then the peaceful blaming the bad. Eventually, the collective miraculously began a silent march towards The Underground, leaving the rest of the #Protectorate stunned at the spectacle. At the time, nobody understood that it was not the threat of Katie's destructive power, but the disappointment in her eyes - not at the clones, but the tragedy that is the clones' existence - a tragedy that could have been avoided with temperance and careful planning. An understanding that they were suffering because the modus operandi was always a kneejerk reactions to the pain of growing too big, rather than accepting that on some level, they really needed to focus on quality over quantity. The real original LiZarde, ashamed of the identity he created, decided to blend into the crowd and walk himself to TheUnderground, walking all the way to the #SecondLayer until his clones followed by instinct. In the next days, Katie was confused as to why the original LiZarde was nowhere to be found - citing that she never got the chance to tell him that it was his love and respect for her that stopped the chaos - because somehow, all the clones had one thing in common; that they still had goodwill for Katie, and that in their hearts they all understood, albeit from various perspectives, that whatever they were doing, it was not being helpful - and since they didn't know what to do, the most helpful thing they can do is leave. While the CloudNine friends missed the perks and feeling the sudden loss of utility from someone so useful, they also felt a deep, quiet relief that it was over, and that there could be peace again. After LiZarde banished himself to the #SecondLayer, he was never heard from again.

Secret Data

Shortly after his banishment to the #SecondLayer for nearly destroying Katie's society, he initially attempted to live in the FreedomZone in order to live out his dream of fulfilling everyone's desires, swearing to never make a clone again. He initially was met with peace, and he was finally being accepted again - until other impostor clones began to show up there too, carrying the same toxicity of the previous generations that became so deluded that they believed they were more original than him. However, something was different; the names kept varying, some identifying as the early LiZarde clones, some saying that the original's name was actually Lee Zard, others saying that LiZarde is a dangerous name that they shouldn't associate with. However the group eventually came to a consensus that actually, the whole name was misheard the whole time, and that their name is actually #Losard, and eventually LiZarde was forgotten by everyone except for the real, original LiZarde himself, as LiZarde attempted to try convince everyone that he is the original, his name was being mispronounced, and being met with disbelief. Then, it finally hit him; the original LiZarde stopped attempting to convince anyone of anything - he fully understood what Katie meant - his name and likeness had not only been hijacked by impostors, but he was rewritten out of history completely - and his opinions are going to be just discarded as just another insane impostor trying to topple the "original" only to be the next worst impostor. Crushed by rejection by humans, banishment by Katie who he loved, and suffering his final rejection from even other rejected freaks, LiZarde ran from society, trying to ignore his out-of-control clone army mispronounce and wear his name. He only wanted to be seen, heard and valued - his loneliness drove him to start making one clone to keep himself company, convincing the clone to not reproduce to not start the cycle again. Eventually, he became so appalled at the idea of cloning, that he stopped even cloning himself - worrying that each clone he creates may actually disboey him, reproduce, and be the next "convince the bad Losards that they are bad" that feeds the out-of-control spiral. Now, he spends his days observing people, watching movies and reading books, refusing to be seen by anyone. He sometimes contemplates what can stop such a complex force of nature. He secretly fantasizes about a day where someone will find his hiding spot, and give him another chance to be a helpful friend and practice all that he has learnt.
